Often times we are so caught up in the daily routines and just getting stuff done that we loose sight of the moment and enjoying it. How many times do we mindlessly do things? Do we even remember why we are doing them and what we enjoy about them? Do we even remember doing them?

The other morning while I was out for my run and not focused on anything specific mindlessly getting my run done to get back home and continue my day and my daily routine another individual who was walking smiled and said “enjoy your run”. I was perplexed and didn’t know how to respond. Normally it’s a good morning and a return good morning spoken. I simply smiled back and said thank you and then felt I should have responded with “enjoy your walk”. Hmmmm “enjoy your run” … I wasn’t in the moment and have had a really difficult time enjoying my run in the humidity and heat of the summer and have been just trying to focus on getting it done. I lost sight of the enjoyment and was reminded by these words spoken to me. I started to remind myself to be thankful that I am able to still get out there and run. I started to think about actually enjoying it and finishing it basking in the good things around me and everything that I have to be thankful for.
At the beginning of the year in my new 2020 daily planner I had started to input my “to do” list on a daily basis. The number one thing in my list was “daily gratitude”. I do not remember when I allowed myself to stop inputting in my planner everyday but somehow it happened. You think oh it’s okay to skip a day and then it’s two and then three and then you forget to do it. I’m not saying I didn’t keep a daily “to do” list but it ended up being thrown together loosely in the morning and neglected to always have my “daily gratitude”. I do however always at some point in the day give gratitude and focus on positives but do believe it is best to do first thing in the morning to start your day off on the right track rather then trying to fit it in later. It will now be my priority during my morning run to practice my gratitude. On the days I do other exercise it will be my priority to work it in then as well. FIND THE POSITIVE. ALWAYS LOOK ON THE SUNNY SIDE. FALL IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER. FALL IS MY FAVORITE!!!

Stay safe, healthy and positive! Sunnyvibes
