How do we stay positive with so much negative?
Welcome to my positivity challenge! It’s not easy to stay positive in a negative environment. Just like any sport it takes some training which consists of time and practice to develop and become better at it. Remember the childhood story “The Little Engine That Could” by Watty Piper…it was the positive mindset that started with I think I can, I think I can, I think I can that went into I’m doing it, I’m doing it, I’m doing it and then to I thought I could, I thought I could, I thought I could. Affirmations really work.
Find a mantra that resonates with you. Mantra—repeated affirmations—we’ve all heard them and know them but do we practice them and repeat them to ourselves daily. ‘Stay Positive’ is more than just a phrase. It’s a mantra, a daily mental boost and reminder to find the positive….Everyday may not be good BUT there is something good in every day!
There is power in words and there is power in your thoughts. What consumes your mind controls your day. Negative thinking will never make your life positive. Don’t focus on the negative–focus on the good! Live life to the fullest and focus on the positive. “Successful people maintain a positive focus in life no matter what is going on around them.” -Jack Canfield.
When you focus on problems, you’ll have more problems. When you focus on possibilities, you’ll have more opportunities. You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind. What you focus on expands! Focus on the outcome not the obstacle!
Here’s my challenge, let’s see if it’s all true
Intentionally pay attention to something positive everyday. Every morning start the day with a positive—say it out loud at least 3 times and repeat it throughout the day. Create a gratitude journal and write at least one thing you are grateful for in it each day.
Let’s create a chain reaction of positivity! Smile more. Give genuine compliments. Just like your morning coffee give yourself a daily mental boost with affirmations. Today will be amazing so wake up and smile! Positivity is a choice that becomes a lifestyle as we practice and train everyday. Let’s do it! Who’s with me? What are your favorite affirmations?
